The Mumo Foundation for Special Needs (MFSN), founded in 2022 and officially registered on the 12/0/2023, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Children with special needs {disability and cognitive challenges} with an emphasis on empowering the immediate caregivers who have been affected by the disability of their children. Mumo Foundation For Special Needs is named after Emmanuel Mumo, born with hydranenencephally, a rare case of Cephalic Disorder in which one is born without brain both hemispheres. Mumo meaning Grace, was founded by a couple after they found themselves with very little information and support after receiving their son's diagnosis. Their journey though very challenging has resulted in this initiative of extending grace and empowering fellow caregivers who find themselves stuck due to the challenges that disability bring.

Often times, disability in children result in developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and other medical complications, only furthering the challenges that patients and their families face. The mental health of caregivers’ especially immediate family is adverse and multifaceted considering they have to provide care on a daily basis in very challenging circumstances.
